Orbital UAV signs new contract with US defence prime, Textron / Lycoming

Brussels Airport et skeyes testent le déploiement de drones à l’aéroport

RTBF – 01.04.2021 – L’objectif est d’évaluer comment des drones peuvent augmenter la sûreté, la sécurité et l’efficience des opérations aéroportuaires. Deux journées de test, mercredi et jeudi, sont prévues pour examiner les possibilités et les procédures opérationnelles d’un drone de sécurité. Le test se fait en collaboration avec Citymesh, opérateur de drones. La particularité de l’engin éprouvé est de pouvoir être piloté à grande distance, via le réseau 5G de l’aéroport: pour le test, le pilote se trouvait ainsi à Bruges. Les simulations sont des rondes d’inspection et de surveillance du domaine aéroportuaire, l’intervention sur les lieux d’un incident aérien et des inspections visant les animaux présents sur l’aéroport qui peuvent représenter un danger pour l’atterrissage ou le décollage des avions… lire l’article

(GA-ASI) MQ-9A Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) under its Second Operating Location Alternate Reaper (SOLAR) requirement. Announced by the US Department of Defense (DoD) on 30 March, the USD12.9 million Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract covers a single Block 1 Reaper medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) UAV, a Lynx synthetic aperture radar (SAR), embedded Global Positioning System (GPS)/Inertial Navigation System (INS), and “UK specific modifications”.
